1. "You want to see my uniform?"
2. "Knowing you, I bet you look great in your winter uniform!"
3. "Yup!"
4. "Can't you just look at it on monday?"
5. "But I wanna take my time and take it all in!"
6. "O- okay..."
7. "Good! I'll come over tomorrow then!"
1. "Waaaah! You look so good!"
2. "You think so?"
3. "Absolutely!"
4. "That turtleneck... Is that yuka-san's idea?"
5. "I totally get it!"
6. "Yup."
1. "You're as adorable as ever, mashiro."
2. "Really? Thanks!"
1. "Hey, mashiro?"
2. "Hm?"
3. "Take that off for me."
4. "...what?"
5. "...pervert."
6. "Huh?!"
7. "Wait, no! I meant your cardigan!"
8. "Oh, what a shame."
9. "Wait a second."
10. "Okay."
1. "What do you think?"
2. "Ooooh! So cute!"
3. "What's cute is cute, period!"
4. "But it doesn't look as good as it does on you..."
1. "I couldn't be luckier to have you as my girlfriend."
2. She's cute when she's flust-ered.
3. "Thanks."
1. "Hm?"
2. "I just wanted to hug you."
1. "What?"
2. "...and now I wanna kiss."
3. "Hee hee."
2. This is Sakuragi Ren. Thank you so much for buying volume 5 of Anemone wa Netsu wo Obiru. How did you like it?
3. It's already volume 5... Or rather, only volume 5, I dare say. It just feels like we've come a long way. Will that only grow once volume 6 releases, I wonder?
4. Although I've made it to this milestone, I still experience days of drought when I realize how hard it is to draw manga. Coming up with a story, adding panels that match... Some days, I wish I could do more. Could do better. Even though I've been drawing for more than ten years now. But I still want to continue learning so that I can provide something even better in the future.
5. Now then, volume 5's main focus was on Nagisa and Mashiro being lovey-dovey while building up Uda-chan's subplot. With someone as cheerful as her, someone as clumsy as Riri-chan, along with Nanjou-senpai and the teacher, just where will this relationship lead? I hope you look forward to volume 6.
6. "Thank you!"
7. I also want to draw Nagisa and Mashiro more. I want to see them lovey-dovey. And this kind of dilemma continues to plague me as of late. I used the extra chapter of this volume to really let out all the pent-up desires I had built up over the last few weeks, and it was fun. From this volume onward, we'll be seeing the characters in their winter uniforms. I already designed them ages ago, so now I get to fulfill that quota. Personally, I'm very satisfied. There is something to be gained only through a kiss between two girls...
8. Indeed, yuri is wonderful.
9. That said... after Anemone started being serialized, I didn't get to enjoy much yuri myself. I was scared that my stories, expressions, or other aspects would be influenced in a weird way, so I'm trying to hold back for now (Of course, that doesn't always work). I'll make sure to get my true fill once Anemone is completed one day.
1. Changing the subject, who do you like the most out of the characters in Anemone? A lot of readers repeatedly ask me this question, so I figured I'd answer it here. My favorite character is Mashiro. But of course I love everyone else, too!
2. To me, Mashiro feels the most like a "girl" in the world of Anemone. Unable to freely convey her emotions, being selfish at times, but also using her weapons as a woman to her advantage. And that kind of feminine aspect is what I like about her.
3. Of course, that's not everything there is to girls, and there are plenty of other examples of how they can be cute in their own right... Well, it might just be my own preferences.
4. Anyway, I like girls that are sparkling, those sporty girls you see in anime, those who give 200% at everything they do. Even scenes that aren't particularly sad still get to me.
5. I'm weak when it comes to a girl's smile.
6. Right when I was working on volume 5, a certain open-world game about puzzles was released, and it completely entranced me.
7. I'm very glad I enjoy drawing art.
8. The first thing I want to do when I wake up is draw, so I think I'll be around for a while.
9. Anyway, I hope you continue to support Anemone and see what other expressions and emotions you get to see from the various characters.
10. Let's meet again in volume 6!
11. "Bye-bye."
3. I wanted the winter uniform to look both resilient against the cold but also cute.
5. You can also fold the collar this way
9. Bottom of the top part can be tucked inside the skirt
10. Still need holes despite the cold...
11. Ribbon is the same as summer uniform
14. The same shirt as with the summer uniform inside the blazer.
15. Nagisa wears a black turtleneck instead of a shirt.
16. Uda uses a hoodie inside a shirt, so she can't close the collar fully.
17. Mashiro wears a cardigan above her uniform.
19. At first, I thought about making them wear something above their spring uniforms, and then have Mashiro wear something with long sleeves, but Nagisa really needs something that's tight around the waist, and the holes in the winter uniform for Mashiro might be a bit too chilly if not for the hoodie...
20. Naturally, everyone needs to look good in their uniforms, but my top priority will always be Nagisa. I want her to be cute yet also handsome!
21. With a wide range of uniforms available for the school's students, it'd be really hard to even keep track of who is breaking rules or not... Well, this is just the fabricated world inside a manga, so the cuteness matters more than anything else.
22. I didn't have any plans for new designs regarding winter uniforms, but when I looked at the previous versions (from now on referred to as spring uniforms), I realized that it might be a bit too chilly for my taste, so I changed up some things. This is what happens when you prioritize cuteness over effectiveness, I guess...
23. But of course, after all this design back and forth, none of the three have actually worn their uniforms like this yet.
