1. I learned to block out any irritation toward the "Slut remarks" back in freshman year.
1. So her defense is purely unnecessary.
1. "It's fine, sera. Don't worry about it."
2. I stated calmly.
1. "And you, man, no hard feelings, but go find another partner."
2. I whispered to both of them, trying not to pull any other
1. To pull any other attention toward us.
1. Exasperated, the guy let out an annoyed sigh before he spoke.
2. "Sorry, seoji, I shouldn't have said that."
1. Then she turned to face sera and shrugged off his now red knuckled grip on his arm.
1. "Chill out, you don't even know who she is!"
1. Sera continued glaring at him.
1. And then he walked away quickly.
1. Sera turned back toward me in her chair and looked me in the eyes for a couple of seconds.
1. I'm not sure what she was looking for, maybe to see if I was upset over what that guy said.
1. I stressed, while she was still staring at me.
2. "Thanks for defending me, but it really wasn't necessary."
1. "It's not okay for any guy to talk to a girl like that."
1. "I don't care if what he said was true or false."
2. "What he said was true."
1. "I'm sure since you're talking to me, half of our classmates will crowd you after class just to let you know my reputation."
2. "I don't care what your reputation is."
1. "Most of us don't have good ones anyways."
1. She said looking at her notebook instead of to me.
2. Then she shook her head slightly as if she were clearing it and turned the look at me again.
1. "Let's do the assignment."
1. Time flew.
2. The lesson passed in a flash, talking with sera.
1. Her french accent was exceptional; she spoke like a native.
2. I had learned that sera was a transfer student with a full scholarship and had been playing basketball with her brother and jiwoo since junior year in high school.
1. But she told me she had to take two years off to work on some personal issues.
2. She seemed uncomfortable talking about them.
