Duel, Interrupted

Karen Miller has watched Kathi Downing on the gymnastics floor for years — both of them late bloomers on the lower rungs of high school's social ladder. The phone call comes after midnight: Kathi accusing Karen of looking at her body, demanding to settle things behind the gym after Friday's game. What starts as a kissing duel becomes a year-long sexfight neither of them can stop, even after they wind up sharing a college dorm room.
