3. To stop the otherworldly "Kaijuu" from invading Earth, individuals wielding special powers known as "Aegis" are tasked with the protection of the world. Aratsugu Yorino, is one of the aspiring "Bastioners" - soldiers who fight the invaders within the wall between the two worlds. 4. After passing the pro Bastioner exam, Yorino meets the girl who saved her when she was still a cadet, Youko, once again. 5. Soon after being assigned as Youko's partner, they were thrust into a mission to defeat a Colossal Kaijuu. For the sake of eliminating every single Kaijuu with her own hands, Yorino swung her sword and cut through a Kaijuu for the very first time, destroying it with her own strength. 6. Now thinking that she has made progress towards her goal, Yorino was suddenly approached by Youko in the shower room. Youko seems to know something about the nature of Yorino's powers, and has a motive for getting close to her... 7. "Do you want to fall into hell with me?" 12. As long as you are here, I will fight. 19. A girl with a prodigious aptitude for battle. She shows very few emotions. She had a very close friend who she was always together with, but she lost her life after saving Yorino. From then on, she became a Bastioner with strong determination. 20. A woman with an easygoing attitude. She achieved high marks in her studies and she also had a high aptitude for battle since her cadet days. She dances to the beat of her own drum even when in combat situations. It seems that she senses something special from Yorino's powers... 21. Bastioners work in pairs, receiving "Aegis" energy from each other to fight the Kaijuu.
