Our new character, Rubeus, wears a ruby brooch as his magic jewel. Actually, there are about ten minerals that have a similar color as the variation of corundrum known as ruby. 5. He uses these ten for his personal magic. But, as Rubeus doesn't have much magic power, he grows his hair out so he can store magic power inside of it. 6. In fact, a lot of the people who use magic in their day-to-day lives, such as the marquesses that protect the border and the royal guard end up growing their hair out for similar reasons. 7. Someday in the future, Diana-chan may end up with long hair as well.

1. On the other hand, it's customary for royalty to cut their hair during the coronation ceremony. This helps signal a lack of hostility during diplomatic talks and also maintains the dignity of the ones being protected. Therefore, if she were to become queen, Lapis would end up with short hair. 2.
